Pool stores and chemistry questions
“Pool is cloudy”, “how much chlorine”, Leslie’s, Pinch A Penny. Most pool searches are owners trying to do it themselves. They click, they read, you pay.
A $150 a month account is worth $5k over its life. A green pool 30 miles away is not.
Pool service is a route business with a repair business attached. The weekly accounts pay the bills, the pump and heater repairs make the margin, and a new customer two zips over makes the whole route worse. Google, left to itself, sees no difference between any of them.
We build zip-targeted campaigns for maintenance accounts, separate campaigns for equipment repair and green pool recovery, keep chemistry questions and pool store searches out, and track every call to a signed account or invoiced repair.
Accounts worth $1,500 to $3,000 a year, repairs from $300 to $5k. The upside is real. So is the waste, and here’s where it usually comes from.

A one-man route can undercut you by $30 a month and the customer will not know the difference until the pump fails. Your ad has to sell reliability, not price.
A weekly stop far from the rest of the route costs you a tech-hour every week for as long as you keep the customer. Loose geo-targeting in the ad account is a payroll problem by summer.
Examples from pool service accounts. The real lists run to hundreds of terms and get reviewed every week.
Your account is run by two PPC pros with 20+ years each. No handoff to a coordinator juggling 35 accounts.
Not quarterly. Not “when the algorithm settles”. Every week, by hand, so the junk never gets a chance to pile up.
Your Google Ads account, your data, your tracking, from day one. Leave anytime and take it all with you.
Who likes 12-month contracts? We don’t. We earn the next quarter by making the last one pay.
Usually $1.5k to $4k a month in a year-round market, more in spring when owners switch companies and open pools. Clicks are $8 to $20. The budget is judged by accounts added on-route, not by call volume.
No. One pool service company per metro. Two clients fighting over the same cul-de-sac does nobody any good, least of all the route density.
Yes. Pump, heater, filter and automation repairs get their own campaign with higher bids because the ticket supports it, and the landing page talks about diagnostics and parts on the truck, not weekly cleaning.
Fuel, labor and dump fees eat the margin. Clicks have to bring jobs worth the drive.
How we run it →A bucket truck and a crane cost money whether they move or not. Keep them moving.
How we run it →Trucks, crews and a short summer. Every click has to earn a booked date.
How we run it →Plows, salt and overtime are fixed costs. Contracts are how you cover them.
How we run it →Talk to a senior PPC expert who has run pool service accounts. Never a junior.
